What is OSHA log 300 and 300A summary?

When do you need to submit your 2023 OSHA 300 log and 300a summary?
OSHA log 300 and form 300A have different submission and posting requirements:
OSHA log 300: you don't need to submit OSHA Form 300 to OSHA under ordinary circumstances. Instead, this form should be used to record and classify all work-related injuries and illnesses within your workplace, and it must be maintained on-site for a period of five years following the year to which the records relate.
OSHA summary 300A: The yearly summary of the workplace injuries and illnesses recorded on OSHA Form 300 are required to be posted in a conspicuous place or places where notices to employees are customarily posted, from February 1 to April 30 each year.
In addition, certain employers are required to electronically submit information from their form 300A to OSHA each year. This includes:
- Establishments with 250 or more employees that are currently required to keep OSHA injury and illness records.
- Establishments with 20-249 employees in certain high-risk industries.
OSHA Form 300A for 2023 is due by March 2nd, 2024.
How do you submit your OSHA 300a summary?
To submit OSHA form 300A, employers should follow these steps:
