Thus, these structural members must be checked for alignment and continuity to ensure full functionality. Inspections include verifying if columns, reinforcement, splices, laps, & ties are correct and checking if formwork alignment, stability, and concrete quality are acceptable.

Beams, Slabs & Structural Framing

Beams, Slabs, and a building's structural framing are responsible for carrying imposed loads and distributing them equally throughout the structure. These structural elements are designed to provide balance to the overall building. Inspecting these members ensures that this balance is achieved, avoiding deflection issues and maintaining the building's overall performance. Inspection includes checking if beams and slabs are in accordance with the approved design, reinforcements are verified before pouring, openings and penetrations are coordinated, and concrete strength test results are available.
